Baby Stroller Reviews

!±8± Baby Stroller Reviews

One way of deciding if a particular stroller is right for you and your baby is to test it out. Another way is to look at reviews of the baby stroller to see how it stands with those who have already used the same model you are looking at. The reviews of four different stroller types will address the pros and cons of each particular stroller.

The Graco Duo-glider - Metropolitan Standard Stroller is a multiple stroller and definitely has more pros than cons however, the decision is strictly yours to make. The seat of this stroller lies flat, it has a great price and great accessories, and it folds small for its size. The extras are nice, there is a five-point harness, and it strolls nicely. There is a huge storage basket under the seat, it is easy to open and easy to get in the car.

The cons of the Graco Duo-Glider is that the basket cannot be reached when the seat is lying flat. The seat sides need more support. The cup holder on the front seat must be removed to shut the trunk of the car.

The Per Prego Duette MT - Black Sable Twin Seat Standard Stroller is durable, has full suspension, and reclining seats. This is an easy to push stroller and it has a smooth ride. The seats can face each other and they both recline. It is narrow for shopping. It's design is high quality with lots of leg room and a five-point harness. There is a roomy seat area.

The complaints about the Per Prego Duette MT are that it is large and heavy. It is expensive. it is hard to fold. It takes up a lot of room. There is no storage basket and this stroller does not collapse all the way.

The Evenflo Cititour Silver Star Twin Seat Standard Stroller has a comfortable rear seat. This stroller can handle up to forty pounds in each seat. It has soft and padded material. There is a toddler drink and snack tray. This stroller steers rather easily and there is easy access to the basket.

Complaints about this stroller include the fact that the parent tray falls down. The front wheels squeak and wobble after about two weeks of usage The front canopy is too small for a toddler. It is difficult to open and close. The fabric has a tendency to catch in the joints of the frame.

Let's take a look at the Graco Quattro Tour 7411 LV - Travel System Stroller is said to be sturdy. It is easy to clean and use. It has great features. This is a very safe stroller. It is a complete traveling system which includes a stay in the car base. The car safety seat detaches from the base and is attached to the stroller frame. The car safety seat also can be an infant carrier. It is an excellent snug-ride infant seat with a useful base. It has a large storage basket. It requires only one hand to fold it.

The complaints about this particular stroller are that the company needs to produce more girl colors. This stroller is very bulky and heavy. It is a pricey model. It is oversized and again very heavy.

The only positive statement about the Combi Tetra TS Crimson Standard Stroller is that it has cool colors. The wheels don't turn properly and the basket is inaccessible when the seat is recline. There are three reclining positions only two of which work. It unfolds but doesn't lock which poses a serious risk to you and your baby and the frame is made of cheap plastic.

12V Battery - Many Uses

!±8± 12V Battery - Many Uses

The 12v battery can be found in a wide variety of forms that look nothing like each other at all. While some may look similar to a regular AA battery only a bit shorter and stockier other 12 volt portable power amps can be much larger than a regular battery weighing six pounds or more. With such a wide variety of styles and designs there are several different uses for the twelve volt battery.

Types of Battery

12 volts come in several different models, but there are two general types, rechargeable and non rechargeable. While non rechargeable batteries are less expensive up front, the price of buying them over and over quickly outweighs the cost of buying rechargeable batteries and a charger just once. If you go through large quantities of 12v battery packs in a short amount of time, then investing in rechargeable models may save you hundreds of dollars each year.

Uses for 12 Volts

There are a lot of uses for these types of batteries including twelve volt portable power devices like travel fridges, fish radars and much more. The 12v battery is a popular item with many hunters and campers because of it's portability and the number of devices that can use it. Many fisherman use them to operate portable refrigerators which keep fish and bait fresh throughout the trip. Campers use them for similar types of portable items as well.

Another place that large 12v batteries are often found is in the ride on vehicles for children that are often used for outdoor entertainment. Many of the popular toy manufacturers that make miniature versions of your favorite vehicles for kids to ride in use 6 or 12v power sources to give the cars their get up and go.

Going Green

Some rechargeable 12v batteries can be used with a solar charger to make them even more eco-friendly. Investing in a solar charger will allow you to recharge your power sources throughout the day regardless of your location. Whether you are sitting at home, camping out by the lake or fishing in an old fashioned boat, solar 12 volt battery charger panels can effectively collect sunlight and charge your batteries while you go about your business.

Twelve volt portable power batteries come in dozens of shapes and sizes to fit your needs, whatever they may be. From flashlights and toys to boating equipment, the uses for batteries are constantly growing, and with solar charging options your power source can keep going strong without costing you anything extra. Whether you are a camper, a fisher, a kid with a battery operated jeep or just a gadget lover you can be sure to meet your needs with a 12v battery collection.

Graco Quattro Tour Duo - An Affordable Twin Stroller

!±8± Graco Quattro Tour Duo - An Affordable Twin Stroller

When parents are blessed with twins or with multiple children they obviously get to deal with, at least, twice the work, twice the baby supplies and twice the cost. It's nice to see that there are, at least, some cost-saving options out there for parents. The Quattro Tour Duo stroller, a tandem stroller from Graco, falls into this category. The Duo stroller is a full-featured stroller that is reasonably priced. Let's take a look at some of Duo's finer points:

The Quattro Tour Duo seats accommodate two SnugRide or Infant SafeSeat infant car seats - this means that you can start strolling right away. These infant car seats from Graco can easily be moved from the car to the stroller and visa versa - without disturbing your sleeping children. The infant car seats simply snap and lock into the stroller for a safe and secure ride. Both seats have removable canopies that provide ample, bassinet-like coverage for your children.

A 3- and a 5-point safety harness system comes standard with the Duo's seats. The safety harnesses can be converted from 5-point to 3-point when your children get older. Research tells us that it's pretty common for parents to switch to the 3-point harness for their own convenience and for their child's comfort.

If you have multiple children you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that you have A LOT of baby gear to transport. I've used and reviewed a lot of strollers and I have to say that compared to the Duo, I've never seen, or heard of, a stroller with more storage space. In my opinion, the Quattro Tour Duo, hands down, has more storage space than all other strollers.

Features

3-position seat recline Washable seat covers 3- and 5-point safety harnesses Seats are compatible with Graco SnugRide and Infant SafeSeat car seats Carries two children up to 90 lbs. total - 50 lbs. front and 40 lbs. rear Removable canopy Cup holder and snack tray for front passenger Easy one hand fold Ergonomic padded handles Extra large drop-down basket for easy access Rear wheel brakes Front wheel suspension 360 degree swivel wheels Front lock for straight steering
Benefits

Stroll with two infants in their car seats Easily open and close the Duo stroller Store all of your baby gear, groceries and toys in Duo's extra large storage basket Provide extra protection for your little ones with the large, removable, canopies Use the Duo stroller for years from infant car seats to 90 lbs. Conveniently secure your children into the Duo stroller with either the 3- or the 5-point harnesses
Who's using this stroller?

Parents who either have twins or two young toddlers Parents who want good value for their dollar use the Duo stroller. Parents find this stroller to be a good value for two reasons: 1 - you get a lot of features for a reasonable price and 2 - You can use this stroller for years... from infancy to a total of 90 lbs.
What's working well?

Transferring your children from the car to the stroller couldn't be easier. Not all twin strollers accommodate two infant car seats - so if you are blessed with multiple infants, consider the Quattro Tour Duo for the infant car seat carrying capability. As I mentioned earlier, you get a lot of storage space with the Quattro Tour Duo. But what I didn't mention was how easy it is to load and unload gear to and from the storage basket. Graco has an amazing lower and load feature where the rear portion of the storage basket can be lowered for incredible easy access. The one thing that surprised me about the Duo strollers is its easy-fold capability. I assumed that since the Duo was such a large, heavy-duty stroller that I'd have to give up the easy fold capability that Graco offers with its standard / single strollers. My assumption was incorrect, the Duo stroller easily folds and unfolds with one hand. This feature is fantastic for parents with multiple children who's hands always seem to be occupied - imagine that.
What's not working well?

I'm sure that Graco's SnugRide and Infant SafeSeat car seats / travel systems are fantastic and they work very well. But I've been talking with lots of parents who consider lack of choice a detriment. In my opinion, Graco would sell a heck of a lot more strollers if they would support other manufacturers' infant car seats. Graco's strollers are only compatible with the Graco SnugRider and the Graco Infant SafeSeat... adding others' strollers to their compatibility list would give us choice - and this, in turn, would remove purchase decision obstacles Many parents I spoke with opted to 'not' get the Quattro Tour Duo because of the weight. Having a full featured twin stroller that weighs 39 lbs. is not for everyone. You'll pay a lot more money for a lighter, full featured, twin stroller - so the trade-off is pretty clear... weight versus affordability.
Why should you buy this stroller?

If you have two young children and you're looking for a stroller that is affordable. If you want a twin stroller that is packed with features If you are looking for a stroller that has a ton of storage space below the seats
Why should you 'not' buy this stroller?

If you either have or want to purchase non-Graco infant car seats. If you are looking for a lighter stroller - in other words, if you can't lift 39 pounds in and out of your automobile. If you are looking for a stroller that's easier to maneuver.
Other Strollers to Consider

Joovy Caboose - A lightweight sit and stand stroller that is ideal for parents who have two children close in age. Parents who have, at least, one child who is over two years old... so he or she can sit or stand on Joovy's unique rear platform. The Peg Perego Duette SW stroller - A tandem stroller that has all the stroller features you can imagine - large wheels, all-wheel suspension, adjustable, forward/rear facing, seats... it even includes a steering wheel!
Recommendation

Parents of 2 young infant or toddler children are certainly blessed but as we all know raising multiple children is a lot of work. Finding a reasonably priced stroller that has lots of practical features is a God-send. The Stroller Shop recommends the Quattro Tour Duo stroller to parents who are looking for great value in their stroller.

Fisher Price Smart Cycle

!±8± Fisher Price Smart Cycle

The Fisher Price Smart Cycle is one of the most innovative toys for your preschool age children. The Smart Cycle stands out from the rest of the toys marketed for preschool age children, in that it combines both physical exercise and fun learning in one toy. This is a stand alone toy that connects directly into your television or VCR, using standard RGB connections. No additional game controllers or computers required. The Smart Cycle contains programs that teach the important number and letter recognition skills, shape and color recognition, and matching games, that are so very important in early childhood development. So here is the really great part of this toy. The Fisher Price Smart Cycle is designed so that your child pedals away while he or she is watching and learning, making this an ideal toy for those cold, rainy afternoons when you really do not want your youngster outside playing.

Your child also learns important hand/eye coordination skills by learning to steer the Smart Cycle while visiting Math Mountain, Shape Lake, Numbers Field and Letter Creek. The Smart Cycle also contains a preschool sized joy stick, to further improve that hand/eye skill sets. As a grandparent, I normally would not be endorsing a product that had my grandchildren watching television, but this toy requires that I make an exception. Like most adults today, I am concerned about the amount of time my grandkids and all children, spend in front of the TV or on the computer, destroying space aliens instead of learning or getting physical exercise. So when a product can combine learning and exercise I have to sing its praises. Last year at Christmas my grandson, Jakob, received a Fisher Price Smart Cycle.

Jakob was three at the time, and was learning his letters, colors and counting. He was also just learning how to ride a tricycle. But he was having a minor problem. Jakob would forget that he had to pedal, and soon would be scooting along instead of pedaling. And to be honest, he had a minor problem with the steering thing also. A year later, Jakob is an expert at both pedaling and steering. I am sure that the furniture that he used to run into is also glad that he has mastered those skills! While I gladly endorse the Fisher Price Smart Cycle, more importantly Jakob also endorses it. The Smart Cycle is one of the only toys that he received last year that he still plays with today, a year later. Now, neither I nor his parents would ever tell him that he is learning and growing every time he uses the Smart Cycle.

He thinks he is just playing, but we know better. Jakob started preschool this fall knowing all of his letters, numbers, colors and shapes and is a darn good tricycle rider thanks to the Smart Cycle. So the Fisher Price Smart Cycle is approved by Jakob, his parents and grandparents. What more could you want in a toy for your favorite preschooler?
